The Mint Ad-free experience is a beta offering in Mint. If you subscribe, you will not see ads or third-party offer content anywhere outside of the Marketplace tab in the Mint app. While this is a mobile-focused experience, subscribers will also see fewer offers in the Mint web experience and will be removed from email lists related to Marketplace partner offers (though it may take a small amount of time for this to take effect).

Subscribers will still be able to see the Marketplace tab and be able to browse products if they have a need.

A Mint Premium subscription gives users all the features of the Mint Ad-free experience, plus a number of additional features. Mint Premium costs $4.99 /month and gives users access to the following features:

• Advanced Data Visualization
  • Spending projections and breakdowns for each spending category
  • Visual indicators that alert users to a projected overspending
  • Ability to download and share spending graphs
  • Comparisons to “Minters like you”
  • Personalized Money spotlights showing your spending details by category
• Subscription Cancellation
• Arcade (easter egg!)

Some users have asked for a more streamlined app experience, without ads and third-party offers. Mint Premium unlocks advanced features and automation, giving Mint users new ways to save money and spend smarter while also removing ads. For now, this is a beta offering available to a portion of our iOS users , to help us better understand user demand and engagement.

For now, Mint Premium is only available to a subset of users using the iOS app. The Ad-free experience is available on both iOS and Android.

The features are mainly available on the mobile apps through the App Store and Play Store, but we are evaluating which feature(s) to also bring to our Web experience. For now, Ad-free users will see differences when they use the Mint Web experience, but will need to manage their subscriptions through the App Store and Play Store.

There are many options to sign up for Mint Ad-free or Mint Premium:

• A card in the suggested offer carousel that says “you asked, we listened” with a CTA to the no-ads landing page
• A card popping up from the bottom of the screen after dismissing an offer that says “enjoy a smoother Mint” with a CTA to the no-ads landing page
• A link to the Mint tier carousel via the “all spending” text just below the spending dollar amount on the top of the spending graph. The text reads “X$ less than last month on all spending”
• A link to the Mint tier carousel via the ‘Money Spotlights’ drawer
• A link to the Mint tier carousel via the cards in the Subscriptions section
• A link from the profile when users go to their Mint app Settings and where they see the profile badge that shows which user profile they belong to - Classic, Ad-free or Premium

iOS users can cancel subscriptions from within the Mint app or via the App store.

To Cancel from the Mint app

• Click the profile icon on the top right
• Go to ‘Manage subscription’
• Click ‘Cancel your subscription’
• Click ‘yes, cancel’ on the drawer
• The drawer will take you to the ‘edit subscription’ screen on the App store
• Confirm Cancellation on the message block by clicking ‘confirm’

• To easily access subscriptions, users should follow this path on their iPhone:
• Click on Settings
• Click on their name (Apple ID)
• Click on Subscriptions (toward the top of the settings list)
• Users will see a list of their active and expired subscriptions
• Click onto the subscription of choice to see an option to cancel subscription

The Premium and the Ad-free experience is designed to hide offers and ads outside of the Marketplace tab. Mint Ad-free and Mint Premium users will be able to browse transactions and accounts without feeling interrupted. The Marketplace tab is still available so that users can continue to browse for new financial products to help meet a financial goal (such as refinance debt to save money, qualify for a mortgage, etc.), if or when it makes sense for their own situation.
