You can split transactions in Mint to accommodate for multiple spending categories in one purchase. For example, if you spent $100 at Target, you can split it into $50 on groceries, $25 on home supplies, and $25 on baby supplies. Splitting your transactions helps keep your budgets accurate. Here’s how to do it.
Mint mobile app
- Open the app and scroll down to Recent transactions. Tap See all.
- Find and select the transaction you want to split.
- Select Split transaction.
- Enter how you’d like your transaction to be divided.
- Select Save.
Mint web
- Sign in to Mint.com and select Transactions
- Select Edit next to the transaction you want to split
- Select Split transaction
- Under Split into, select +
- On the new line, enter the category and amount for the split
- To split it again, select + again
- Once you split your transaction as many times as you want, make sure the sum of the splits equals the transaction total
- You may need to edit the amount on the first split if you haven't already
- Select I’m done to save and exit
